| Requirements for Candidacy |

Students will orally defend their doctoral dissertation proposal (no earlier than the term in which the substantive coursework is completed) before admission to candidacy for the Ph.D degree. A student is admitted to candidacy after successful oral defense of the dissertation proposal. |
