The Student Executive Council (known as SEC or simply EC) was formed in 2006 in an effort to give students in the program opportunities to develop their leadership skills while giving all students in the program activities in which to participate outside of academics. All EC members are committed to improving the program and increasing participation. The EC leadership has participated in UAB Into the Streets (Volunteer Committee); held multiple game nights (Social/Fundraising Committees); led the Orientation Retreat (Peer Mentoring/Retreat Committee); and formed soccer, ultimate frisbee, and dodge ball teams (Intramurals Committee).
