Student Involvement & Leadership recently welcomed its new assistant director for Leadership and Service Lauren Hobbs. Lauren comes to UAB from Auburn University where she served as the student employment coordinator in the career center. Previously, she supported the Auburn on the Hill initiative, served as a course instructor for the first-year seminar and served as a third-party investigator for the Office of Student Conduct. In addition, she was the director of Leadership and Greek Life at Huntingdon College in Montgomery.

In her new role, Lauren will serve as the advisor for the Ambassador program, oversee the selection and distribution of the Aaron Lamar Jr. and Camille Armstrong Memorial Scholarships, and will provide guidance and leadership for the areas of leadership and service. She is also currently working on a doctoral degree in adult education at Auburn University.
