Dive into Drag with UAB’s Second Annual Drag Ball!
Take a dive under the sea at UAB’s Second Annual Drag Ball! Students can watch local drag entertainers perform or enter the competition themselves for a chance to be crowned. Hosted by the Student Multicultural & Diversity Programs and in collaboration with SMDP’s Queer Peers, this event is back a second time to celebrate the diversity of our student community. There will be a DJ, prizes to win, free snacks provided by Naughty but Nice Kettle Corn, and an after-party!
Join us for an evening of fun and entertainment at the HSC outdoor amphitheater this Friday, September 30 at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is Under The Sea. Don’t be a guppy and miss out on the fun! Students will have the opportunity of being crowned in 6 different categories:
- Divine Drag (Femininity)
- God of the Sea (Masculinity)
- Fish Face (Makeup application)
- Moves like an OctoPus (Vogue style dance)
- Beach Please (Costume)
- Atlantis (Group cohesiveness/Stage presence)
All students of any gender identity are welcome and encouraged to attend. If performing for a crowd isn’t your thing, feel free to join the audience in cheering on the contestants!
