Blazer Welcome with UAB's Collegiate Recovery Community August 12 - September 17

UAB's Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) welcomes all Blazers to five special events to kick off the semester. Connect with peers and learn how the CRC supports Blazers in improving their relationship to substances.

On August 23, 2022, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., the first Collegiate Recovery Community meeting of the semester will commence. Enjoy free food while you get to know other students and the CRC’s staff.

On August 31, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. the CRC will host an open house and an evening social. Come learn more about the resources available to you and how to become a member. After the open house, stay for game night and more community building!

On September 8, the CRC is hosting a recovery ally training for students from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Its goal is to educate attendees on how best to support their recovery-ready community.

Then round out Blazer Welcome with the first sober tailgate of the semester! See the Blazers take on Georgia Southern on September 17. This tailgating experience begins at 11 a.m. and is an alcohol-free celebration with free food, games, and more!
