Parking tickets. They happen to most of us at one time or another.
You park someplace you shouldn't and vow that you'll be back in a flash, but when you return to your car two minutes later, you find a parking ticket on the windshield. Or you feed quarters in the meter, but your class runs over, your professor stops you to talk after class, the crosswalk light takes forever to change, and then there's that dreaded "expired" sign on the meter with a ticket to go with it. As if you needed one more expense.
USGA understands. That's why they're offering UAB students a Parking Amnesty Day.
Bring an unpaid parking ticket to the Campus Green (or the HUC if it's raining) April 3 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and it'll be forgiven for $5 or five canned goods.
However, there are several restrictions to keep in mind:
- Only one ticket per person can be forgiven
- Ticket must be less than $20
- Ticket must have been issued after 2/18/13
- Ticket cannot be already charged to student account
- Only UAB-issued tickets are eligible
And don't go treating Parking Amnesty Day like it's some sort of "diplomatic immunity" or Danny Glover might declare that "It's just been revoked."
