UAB Soccer beats defending national champs

The UAB men's soccer team celebrates their victory over IndianaThe UAB men's soccer team scored a big win in their September 6 home game against Indiana. The Blazers beat the defending national champions with a 2-1 victory in overtime.

In front of a West Campus Field-record crowd of 3,205, redshirt junior Alex Clay pounded a shot on Soderlund in the final minute of the first overtime period. Soderlund could not collect the save and Dajani headed it past the Hoosiers' keeper, sealing the win for the Blazers.

"Honestly, out all of my years playing soccer, it was, for sure, the best moment I've ever been a part of," explained Dajani. "You can't beat that feeling, at all."

The win gives the Blazers a record of 3-0-0 for the season so far, and moved their ranking up to No. 10.
