Out Week highlights LGBT history and equality


Dan Savage"Savage Love" sex columnist Dan Savage will speak at UAB as part of LGBT History Month.October is LGBT History Month, and UAB has a number of events lined up to promote equality. Speakers, artists, trainings, academic classroom lectures, consultation meetings by local and national experts, and more will help educate our campus on the diversity within the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.

Several of the planned events are centered around National Coming Out Week, celebrated by university campuses and community organizations across the country each year in leading up to National Coming Out Day on October 11.

Here's a lineup of events and activities.

OUT for Justice: Organizing a Collective Vision for Change at UAB
