Receive academic advising and develop academic plan

Here it is: your future. And it’s all planned out at orientation. It’s not scary or permanent—you’ll meet with your academic advisor to talk about your goals, strengths, and interests to develop a plan for success at UAB. (Success!)

You’ll meet with your academic advisor during Goin’ Green New Student Orientation and each semester after that.  You’ll want to ask questions about potential majors, degree requirements, good classes to enroll in for your first semester, placement tests, and anything else that’s on your mind. Build that relationship with your advisor from the start, and he or she will stick with you all the way to graduation.

If you change your major after being accepted, notify us at least one week before attending orientation. Call the Admissions Office at 205-934-8221.
