It’s a great time to live on UAB’s campus. Demand is high for all 2,200 living spaces and we are in the midst of a major improvements campaign. All residence halls will be touched by upgrades of some sort. It’s like your living space will be getting a perpetual facelift over the next few years.
All residence halls are receiving some upgrades now, like the new automated, online room and roommate selection system and additional energy conservation initiatives. Other major upgrades which are planned over the next several years, in certain residence halls, include: new furniture, remodeling interiors, painting, carpeting, elevator upgrades, new lighting, heating and air conditioning enhancements, among many others.
Housing rates will slightly increase – no more than 4 percent – but only what is needed to reinvest back into our residence halls to ensure we are providing the best environment in which students can live, grow, and learn.
Here are the new rates per semester for Fall 2012 and Spring 2013:
· Blazer Hall – $2,700
· Blount Hall – $3,020 (4 Bedroom); $3,890 (2 Bedroom)
· Camp Hall – $2,700
· Denman Hall – $2,160
· Rast Hall – $2,790
