Feedback from students said that Jazzman's could use a little update, too, now that it is sitting next to the shiny new information desk.  UAB and Sodexo listened and will be closing Jazzman's / Freshens Cafe on Friday, November 11th to begin work.

No, nobody's burning the dorms down (for those of you that just got a little excited).  It's Fire Safety Week 2011, and UAB is going to burn down a mock dorm room on Rast-Blount lawn to demonstrate how quickly a safety hazard can turn into a fatal situation.  Grab some free pizza, soft drinks, and t-shirts while you're there.

If you thought the Freshman Run was some sort of jogging event, you're in for a surprise.  It involves running, but on some very different turf.  

For every bowl of Kellogg’s cereal purchased at the Commons on the Green between Sept. 12 and Oct. 14, Kellogg’s will donate a bowl of cereal on UAB’s behalf to the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama.

The Hill University Center is our beloved student facility, home to all resources students seek...including Chick-fil-A. Some upcoming changes to the building will modernize the space and make it more student-friendly.
