Whether you're sending your first child to college or finally preparing for an empty nest, being involved with your college student in a healthy and supportive way is very important.

Our students come to UAB with parents who have been there for them—PTA, band boosters, Touchdown Clubs—you name it, our parents have been leaders on behalf of their students. So it is natural to want to continue with that support throughout your student's college years. You want to be "in the loop" and ready to offer direction, some parental advice, a word of encouragement or a little something to say, "I believe in you."
