Planning ahead helps you reach your goals faster.
UAB is committed to helping students and faculty succeed. One way to do this is by utilizing academic planning technologies.
In the coming months, a series of new software systems will be available to students, faculty, and staff. These systems will improve the processes for reserving space, planning the curriculum, choosing majors, interacting with advisors, and mapping clear paths to graduation. The UAB campus family will benefit from an improved academic calendar and room schedule, an online, searchable course catalog, improved student communication approaches, and a degree-map system.
Standard Course Schedule
In spring 2012, UAB will upgrade its scheduling software and implement a standard course schedule in order to provide students and faculty greater access to “smart” classrooms and help students and advisors better manage curriculum planning.
The UAB undergraduate catalog will be available later in Fall 2011 in an online, searchable, and user-friendly format.
Graduation Planning System (GPS)
The GPS (Graduation Planning System) allows students to track the completion of their degree requirements, as well as create a detailed four-year course planner.
The BlazerNET client relationship manager ("CRM") will allow advisors to more effectively view and track their advisees.
Meeting Space Management
The Book It system will allow students, faculty, and staff to request room reservations through a convenient, online format.
