No campus is isolated from crime. However, UAB has taken responsibility to engage a variety of security measures to protect the campus community.
The UAB Police Department employs more than 100 officers to enforce the law and provide safety and security for students, faculty, staff, and visitors to campus.
You'll find two-way help phones (with the blue lights) stationed throughout campus that can be used to immediately summon police in the event of an emergency.
In addition, the UAB Police Department offers campus escorts, crime prevention tips, programs on rape aggression defense, personal safety and security awareness, victim awareness assistance, LEBA bike training, and more.
