78 Year-Old, White Female
with History of Goiter.
Pathology: Multiple sections of the thyroid gland show nodular hyperplasia. Follicles are markedly variable in size, but are generally filled with eosinophilic colloid. There are irregular bands of dense fibrous tissue traversing the gland. No evidence of carcinoma is seen. Diagnosis: Thyroid gland, resection- Return to Case Studies
