Board of Directors
The charter now provides for thirteen directors, five being University officers of board members. The remainder may be outsiders. Present board members are:
  • Dr. Carol Z. Garrison, President of UAB
  • Mr. Richard L. Margison, Vice President for Financial Affairs and Administration of UAB
  • Dr. Eli Capilouto, Acting Provost of UAB
  • Mr. John J. McMahon, Jr, Member, Board of Trustees of The University of Alabama
  • Mr. B. Gene Bartow
  • Mr. Charles A. Collat, Sr.
  • Ms. Sallie Creel
  • Mr. T. Michael Goodrich
  • Mr. C. Ray Hayes
  • Ms. Marsha Hire
  • Mr. William M. Spencer III
  • Ms. Odessa Woolfolk
  • One position vacant
The Charter and bylaws dictate that the persons filling the first five offices above be Foundation directors.
