Undergraduate Research Fund
The Undergraduate Research Fund provides UAB undergraduates with the resources to either purchase supplies and equipment that are necessary to advance their research efforts or to offset travel costs incurred when presenting research at academic and/or professional conferences. The UR Fund supports students of all disciplines.
Why Donate? The best way to learn is to do! There has been extensive investigations on the educational benefits of undergraduates conducting research. Students involved in research typically show greater gains in intellectual, professional and personal growth than those students who do not participate. Also, these students typically stay in school, graduate and attend graduate schools at higher rates than students who are not engaged. Research not only equips students with technical know-how, but also stimulates and sharpens problem solving and communication skills essential for success in graduate school and the professional world.
Your gifts make it possible for undergraduate students to learn at the highest level of understanding and acquire experience and skills necessary to be successful in today's very competitive economy.
As illustrated by the chart below that details student enrollment in undergraduate research courses, UAB students recognize and value the benefits of a research experience in the undergraduate education.
