The Summer Research Expo showcases the research produced by UAB undergraduates and students in UAB summer research programs.
The 2014 Poster Session will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 8-10:30 a.m. at the Campus Rec Center. The speaker session and awards will be held in Heritage Hall, room 102, beginning at 10:45 a.m.
- July 16th - Students must submit their abstract by noon.
- July 24th - Students must arrive at Campus Rec Center by 8 a.m.
All students must choose a Competition Area under which their poster will be submitted for judging. The choices are Life Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering, Social & Behavioral Sciences, and Public Health, and Service Learning and HAC projects (Some of these areas may be combined, divided into sessions [e.g., Life Sciences I, Life Sciences II, etc.] or eliminated based on the number of submissions. If so, the closest related Competition Area will be assigned to the student).
Abstracts are due by noon on Wednesday, July 16th. Abstracts should be no more than 250 words. All students should use the Abstract link below to submit an abstract. You must have a BlazerID to access the form. Fill out the form and make sure you click 'submit' when finished. You will receive a confirmation email if you were sucessful. Abstracts can be changed/modified up to when Abstracts are due on July 16th. Simply log into the system below, select your abstract, and click the 'edit item' button. Be sure to hit save at the top of the top of the page after you are finished editing. Clicking the submit button will not save your edits.
Due noon, Wednesday, July 16th.
All posters should be 48" x 36" however the maximum size allowed is 60" x 40". The students and/or their Summer Research Program will be responsible for the printing of their posters.
Students must bring their posters to the poster session at the Campus Rec Center by 8:00 a.m. on July 24th.
