Jefferson County Youth Transportation Program
Jefferson County Youth Transportation Program
The Jefferson County Youth Transportation Program, designed and funded by the Alabama Department of Transportation, is a year-round program administered through the UAB Office of the Vice President for Equity and Diversity under the Minority Business Training and Development programs. Students in the Youth Transportation program take field trips to transportation-related companies and governmental agencies across the Southeast. They also hear lectures presented by guest speakers in the transportation industry.
Students in the program come from high schools across Jefferson County. They are selected based on their school counselors' recommendations. To participate in the JCYTP students must be in good standing with their respective schools and demonstrate an interest in the transportation field.
