Dr. Underhill is a graduate of Georgia Southern University (BS Chemistry, 1995), Auburn University Montgomery (MS Psychology, 2001), the University of Alabama at Birmingham (MPH Epidemiology, 2003, PhD Epidemiology 2008), She is the project administrator and co-investigator of A Longitudinal Study of Rehabilitation Outcomes, the UAB Injury Control Research Center’s longest-running project.
Prior to coming to UAB, Dr. Underhill taught high school biology, physical science, and ecology in Wilkes County, Georgia. Her research interests focus on post-injury psychological outcomes, as well as motorcycle and pedestrian safety. Dr. Underhill has worked with the ICRC since 2002. She has authored or coauthored 9 publications and 15 presentations. She has served as an ad hoc reviewer for numerous scientific journals.
