The UAB Vector Production Facility is located in the free-standing, one story Cancer Research Center and consists of more than 2,000 sq.ft. of laboratory space. The 700 sq.ft. Vector Production Suite is recently renovated with vinyl-covered continuous flooring, stainless steel benches, HEPA filtration and Class 10,000 single pass air. The Production Suite includes a gowning area, cell culture room, virus culture room and vialing room. The 600 sq.ft. Quality Control Laboratory includes suites for virus titering, sterility testing, and molecular biology assays, while a 600 sq.ft. Research and Development Lab provides space for optimization of protocols. Separate storage areas are available for cryopreservation and storage of quarantined and released supplies. A MadgeTech Wireless Data Logging System provides 24/7 monitoring of the facility environment and critical equipment.
