PILATUS 200K

PILATUS 200K

The PILATUS 200K features an active area of 84 by 70 millimeters and is the ideal detector for a wide range of X-ray diffraction applications. The shutterless data collection through the Osmic HF mirrors on a partial χ-axis goniometer allows for rapid data collection for medium to well diffracting crystals within in a couple of hours. The interface with HKL3000 makes it seamless to first shoot crystals, strategize (both HKL and rigaku strategy), collect and process the data sets. The integration of structurre solution software in HKL3000 makes it ideal for drug discovery projects and for crystal routine characterizations.

R-AXIS IV++

R-AXIS IV++

The R-AXIS IV++ has the time tested IP (imaging plate) based diffraction data collection technology. The HR Optics outfitted on this side of generator allows for finetuning the beam size for larger complexes that have elongated unit cells. The IP's can be exposed for longer periods to collect data from weakly diffracting crystals. The integration of data collection, processing and structure solution with HKL3000 is an added feature for this system, where routine structures can be resolved effortlessly.

Gryphon Crystallization Robot

Gryphon Crystallization Robot

The Crystal Gryphon is a small, fast and affordable option for setting up all of your crystal plates. The 96-channel positive displacement head quickly fills screen reservoirs and protein wells. The head has no disposable tips, so the cost of operation and environmental waste is minimized. The 1-channel non-contact dispenser quickly aspirates and dispenses your proteins sealing your plate without evaporation being a problem. This dispense head is designed specifically to handle proteins, features flow-through washing and positive displacement aspiration, to handle all of your proteins. The core-facililty carries a number of commercial screens for users to utilize. All supplies are available in the facility for carrying out rapid crystallization screening and optimization.

Phoenix Crystalization Robot

Phoenix Crystalization Robot

The Phoenix is one of the first versatile version of crystallization robots that is an ideal dispensing system for working with organic solvents. The reagents contact the syringe head and are only exposed to glass, stainless steel and a fluoropolymer making the head compatible with all the commonly used chemistries. The setting up of multiple crystallization screens is done with ease. This particular robot is setup inside a cold room specifically for crystallization experiments that are to be carried out at 4 ºC.

Isothermal Titration Calorimetry

Isothermal Titration Calorimetry

Isothermal Titration Calorimetry is one of the powerful thermodynamic techniques for characterizing binding affinity of ligands for proteins. It not only measures affinity, but also determines the stoichiometry of the interacting partners. This is a very typically used for screening for drug candidates in high throughput screening. Our Auto-ITC 200 utilizes 200 microliters of protein and 120 microliter of ligands in the syringe, and is automated to do multiple candidate studies in a 96 well format robotic assisted setup, where human errors are minimized. The data obtained is both automatically processed, and for further confirmations Origin 7.0 software is availble for users to carry out further analysis. The Core-facility will assist with its expertise in both designing, conducting and analyzing experimental data for users.

Differential Scanning Calorimetry

Differential Scanning Calorimetry

Differential scanning calorimetry can be used to measure a number of characteristic properties of a sample. Using this technique it is possible to observe fusion and crystallization events as well as glass transition temperatures Tg. DSC can also be used to study oxidation, as well as other chemical reactions. The Cap-DSC equipment is capable of analysing multiple data sets, particulary to analyze the effect of compounds/inhibitors on the protein stability and its folding characteristics. The Core-facility will assist with its expertise in both designing, conducting and analyzing experimental data for users.
