Lee Price
It was probably a 14-hour process that day. I was pretty much done with school, I thought, when I finally got registered.
—Retired Major General Nancy Lee S. Price grew up in Birmingham and graduated from UAB in 1975 with a criminal justice degree. She began working in the United States Army as a clerk typist and served for 38 years, becoming the first woman in her branch of the Army to be promoted to one-star and then two-star general. Today Lee volunteers with several UAB departments as a guest lecturer discussing leadership and the Army model. She also is writing a book about her time in the Army that she plans to release in 2020.
