We are excited to welcome Alan Litsey to the UAB Advancement team! Alan is a part-time Program Coordinator I for the Benevolent Fund. In this role, he will work with employees facing emergency financial crises and seeking assistance from the Benevolent Fund. He will meet with each employee to listen to their situation and gather relevant documentation, before presenting the case to the Benevolent Fund Council for consideration.
Alan joins UAB from Birmingham-Southern College, where he served as department chair and then professor emeritus in the Department of Theatre. He was also the director of Community Engagement. His work as a playwright has been produced nationally and internationally.
Alan continues to enjoy creative projects and serving his community through leadership roles for nonprofits.
