We’re thrilled to welcome Karen Hartless to the team as Director of Advancement Information Services and Analytics.

In this role, Karen will lead a team to provide the solutions, data infrastructure, processes, and tools to support effective performance of UAB Advancement staff.

Karen has nearly two decades of experience working in analytics. Most recently, she served as the Director of Business Intelligence and Reporting at RxBenefits Inc. in Birmingham.

She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin, and a master’s degree in business analytics and post graduate certificate in executive leadership and analytics from Ohio University.

Karen splits time between Birmingham and Huntsville. She and her husband have six children—three adult children, one high school senior who will attend UAB in the fall, and 12-year-old twins. They also have four dogs, five rescue puppies, three cats, and one gecko named Sandy.
