Kate Hollingsworth joined the Heersink School of Medicine Development Team as an assistant director of development on July 1.
In this role, she will develop a donor network of mid-level prospects to help build a donor pipeline and establish a portfolio of individuals, including alumni, with the capacity to make mid-level/major gifts within general medicine areas.
Kate brings a strong background in fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and community relations to this position. She previously served as an Annual Giving manager, managing major fundraising campaigns, developing stewardship communications, and supporting donor engagement initiatives across UAB.
Prior to UAB, Kate served in leadership roles with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, where she directed fundraising efforts, managed donor and volunteer engagement programs, led special events, and developed community partnerships. Her experience reflects a passion for relationship-building, strategic communication, and advancing mission-driven organizations through philanthropy. Kate is currently pursuing a master’s degree in communication management at UAB and holds a bachelor’s degree in education.
