We are pleased to announce that Marylyn West has been promoted to Associate Vice President of Advancement Services, recognizing her exceptional leadership, institutional knowledge, and long-standing contributions to UAB.
Marylyn has been with UAB for nearly 14 years, joining the university in June 2012 as a Senior System Analyst. She later created the Advancement Information Services and Analytics (AISA) team and was promoted to Director and then Senior Director of AISA. In November 2022, she was selected to serve as Assistant Vice President for Advancement Services. Throughout her tenure, Marylyn has built a reputation as a trusted leader and strategic partner across campus.
Over the last several years, Marylyn has overseen several key Advancement initiatives, including collaborating with UAB Finance to secure Stripe as an institutional payment method, leading the ongoing CRM migration to KindSight Advancement RM, and playing a central role in the campus-wide data integration initiative. She also serves as Advancement’s representative on multiple university-wide committees focused on data integrity and technology.
In her role, Marylyn oversees Advancement Information Services and Analytics, Gift Records Administration, Prospect Research and Management, and Advancement Operations Services, and the UAB Friends and Family Program.
