“Robert brings a great deal of experience and a proven track record of success in higher education development to the Collat School of Business as the new Senior Director of Development,” Associate Vice President for Development David Allen said. “He has served in development leadership roles at multiple universities, and over the past eight years has done a great job of growing the major gift donor base of support for the School of Engineering.”

In his role in the School of Engineering, Robert led the successful completion of a more than $13 million building campaign to name the Frances and Miller Gorrie Hall and several interior spaces, giving the school a new innovative place to call home. His dedication and achievement as a development officer was recognized by UAB Advancement in 2020 when he was the recipient of the Dr. Kenneth E. Burke Award for Outstanding Achievement in Advancement Leadership.

Robert started his development career in 2004. Immediately prior to coming to UAB, he served as the vice president for advancement and development at Tuskegee University.

“I look forward to seeing how Robert utilizes his collaborative leadership and team-first approach to help take the Collat School of Business to the next level of fundraising success,” David said.
