UAB Advancement welcomes Sam Pugh as an Annual Giving Manager.
In this role, Sam will manage marketing, solicitation, communications and project initiatives for the UAB Benevolent Fund campaigns, including Blazers Against Hunger and the annual Spring Campaign. He will also support donor engagement, stewardship and other annual giving efforts for the university.
Sam is a Birmingham native and proud UAB graduate, having earned his degree in mass communications with a concentration in public relations while also studying political science. He most recently served as program associate at Urban Impact, Inc., where he focused on entrepreneurship and small business development, program implementation, community engagement and strategic communications. His professional background also includes public service experience with the City of Birmingham Department of Youth Services and community-focused work as an AmeriCorps VISTA.
When he is not at work, Sam enjoys reading, volunteering, and exploring coffee shops and new coffee flavors.
