UAB Advancement is excited to welcome Sarah Creel Mitchell as a writer on the Advancement Communications team!
In this role, Sarah will be creating and editing content for print and digital publication, such as proposals and donor stories.
Sarah is no stranger to UAB. In 2020, she moved from Atlanta to Birmingham to teach in the UAB Graduate School. When the professional development department she was working in was closed, she began teaching at Jefferson State Community College. Sarah holds a Ph.D. in English, and her career as a university professor began in 2007.
Higher education is a family affair for Sarah, as her wife Amy is a professor at the University of Montevallo. Together with their seven-month-old daughter, they live in Montevallo enjoying their one dog, three cats, and three chickens.
When she is not at work Sarah enjoys thrifting, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
