Alex Axtell has joined the UAB Heersink School of Medicine Development team as Development Coordinator.
As part of her role, she will support Whitney Williams and the Medical Education team as they generate support for the HSOM medical scholarships, the Department of Medical Education, and the Regional Medical Campuses. Alex is a returning Blazer, who graduated from UAB with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Public Relations. Alex brings experience working with mission-driven organizations in the Birmingham area, including the YMCA and Holy Family Christo Rey Catholic High School, where she worked with the organization on a consultancy that was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America. Alex also spent some time in UAB Athletics as a student.
When she’s not working, Alex enjoys reading, music and spending time with her two dogs.
We’re delighted to welcome her back to campus as a new staff member!
