Congratulations to Whitney Williams on her promotion to Senior Director of Development II for Medical Education on the Heersink School of Medicine Development team!
In her new role, Whitney will provide strategic leadership for Medical Education fundraising efforts, overseeing a team of development professionals while partnering with faculty, alumni, donors, and regional campuses to advance philanthropic support for one of the Heersink School of Medicine's highest priorities. She will play an integral role in shaping fundraising strategy, mentoring team members, and strengthening philanthropic partnerships across Medical Education.

Throughout her career, Whitney has successfully led major and principal gift strategies, partnered closely with department chairs and faculty, and played a key role in advancing grateful patient philanthropy, alumni engagement, and principal gift fundraising. She has raised more than $14 million in philanthropic support while consistently exceeding fundraising goals and building meaningful relationships with donors and institutional partners.
Prior to joining UAB, Whitney served as Director of Development for the Birmingham Education Foundation, where she led successful fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts. She holds a Master of Arts from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Arts from Birmingham-Southern College and was recognized with UAB's Dr. Kenneth E. Burke Award for Early Career Fundraiser in 2022.
