Director of Development - Heersink School of Medicine/UAB Medicine
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Director of Development for the Heersink School of Medicine/UAB Medicine team. The primary responsibilities are to develop and implement strategies for identifying, cultivating, and successfully soliciting individuals, corporations and foundations and grateful patients for major gifts. The position will work with the Department Chairs and others within the Departments/Divisions to manage the planning and execution of appropriate cultivation and stewardship special events, including planning and hosting visits by donors and their representatives.
Senior Director of Development II - O'Neal Cancer Center
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Senior Director of Development II with the Office of Advancement and Heersink School of Medicine for the O’Neal Cancer Center. This position will be expected to develop fundraising priorities and seek to grow philanthropic success through established metrics on an annual basis – including dollar, visit, solicitations and proposals presented goals. The Senior Director of Development II will be experienced in developing complex projects and have experience implementing strategies for a highly complex fundraising team. The incumbent will lead and direct a team to meet yearly metrics, provide professional development opportunities, and provide leadership to a volunteer Advisory Board.
Assistant Director – Development – School of Nursing
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Development to join the UAB School of Nursing Office of Development and Alumni Relations (ODAR). Under the direction of the Senior Director of Development II for the School of Nursing, this position is expected to solicit and close a defined number of mid-level gifts in support of the UAB School of Nursing. This includes intentional meetings with unqualified and/or qualified prospects to build and maintain a portfolio of mid-to-high net worth prospects. The Assistant Director of Development will be expected to meet/exceed established metrics on an annual basis – including dollar, visit, solicitations and proposals presented goals.
Assistant Director – Development - School of Health Professions
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks an Assistant Director of Development to join UAB’s School of Health Professions. The Assistant Director is expected to efficiently solicit and close a defined number of mid-level gifts within a specified timeframe in support of the school. This includes intentional meetings with unqualified and/or qualified prospects to build and maintain a portfolio of mid-to-high net worth prospects. The incumbent is expected to meet/exceed established metrics on an annual basis – including dollar, visit, solicitations and proposals presented goals. This position will report to the Director of Development for the School of Health Professions and will be an integral member of the University Advancement team.
This position is hybrid-eligible after the probationary period.
Development Coordinator – School of Nursing
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Development Coordinator to join the School of Nursing office of development and alumni relations. The primary responsibility of this position is to work closely with and support the Development efforts of assigned areas in securing major gifts. This includes performing administrative duties such as CRM input and management, calendaring, scheduling travel, submitting reimbursements, and performing other duties as assigned. Candidates must have excellent project management, analytical and organizational skills.
Development Coordinator – School of Engineering
Description:
The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Development Coordinator to join the School of Engineering. The primary responsibility of this position is to work closely with and support the Director of Development in securing major gifts. The incumbent will provide essential operational, administrative, and event support to advance philanthropic priorities. With support of the Director of Development, the Development Coordinator will help to strengthen relationships with donors, prospects, alumni, and corporate partners.
Development Coordinator – Heersink School of Medicine

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Development Coordinator to join the Heersink School of Medicine development office for the Department of Medicine. The primary responsibility of this position is to work closely with and support the Development efforts of assigned areas in securing major gifts and recognizing major gift donors and volunteers. This includes performing administrative duties such as CRM input and management, grateful patient workflow, managing the Department of Medicine donor acknowledgement process, supporting activities of the two Department of Medicine volunteer boards and cultivation activities for the center, calendaring, and submitting reimbursements.
