The Blazing the Way Scholarship Match Initiative, launched this year, is a unique partnership that matches donor investments to engage new students, promote their success, and increase retention.

Annual Scholarship donors double their investment with a 1:1 match and help students build toward their future. These scholarships are a four-year commitment and are eligible for naming.

For Endowed Scholarships, UAB provides the spendable portion of the payout for five years to allow the scholarship to be awarded immediately while the endowment is being funded. These commitments can be paid over five years.

With both annual and endowed scholarships, funds are made available to students meeting academic criteria. Donors have the ability to set additional criteria such as a need or participation in a particular course of study or department.
