Craig Brandwein has been professionally involved with music for over fifty years. He is an Emmy®-nominated producer and songwriter and a voting member of the National Association of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS), the organization that presents the Grammy® awards. He has written and produced music for various artists, such as the late Lynn Anderson, and he has composed music for network television, corporate clients and musical theater. He has also composed music for over twelve independent films, where he also served as music supervisor and post-production supervisor.

Some of Brandwein’s recent and current projects include:

  • The Secret Exit, an album he produced for Dr. Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk (soprano) and Dr. Denise Gainey (clarinet), was released on Naxos Records in 2018 (Catalog No: 8.559890).
  • These Distance Between Us, an album he produced (and to which he contributed seven songs) for Dr. Emily Jaworski Koritah (mezzo-soprano) and Dr. Tad Koriath (piano) was released on Naxos Records in 2022 (Catalog No: 8.559908).
  • Korean Tapestry, an album produced for Dr. Won Cho (bass) and Dr. Kyoung Cho (soprano) will be released on Naxos Records in May 2023 (Catalog No: 8.579179).
  • Longing: Love Across the Ages, an opera for which Brandwein was commissioned to compose the music and for which David Sellers has written the libretto.

He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a Master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition from Long Island University (New York). As a public school music educator, he has held positions in the Levittown Public Schools (New York) and in the Roosevelt Union Free School District (New York). At the higher education level, he has been an Adjunct Professor (Music Appreciation and Music Theory) at Suffolk County Community College (New York), Professor (Songwriting, Guitar and Audio Engineering) at Five Towns College (New York), Professor (Music Technology) at St. Augustine’s College (North Carolina) and Full-Time Associate Professor (Fundamentals of Audio, Sound Design, Post-Production, Pro-Tools™, Game Audio, and various project classes for graduating students) at Living Arts College at the School of Communication Arts (North Carolina) where, in addition to his teaching, his voluntary involvement resulted in the institution successfully securing Bachelor of Arts degree accreditation. He is a certified instructor for AVID’s Pro-Tools® and Sibelius® software, and currently is an Assistant Professor of Music Technology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

    Staff Composer for Signature Sound, Inc., Music, for Corporate, Film & Television. Composed and produced cues for Proctor & Gamble’s daytime dramas; Guiding Light, Another World an As The World Turns. I used both MIDI and Live instruments.
