Give Opportunities

The UAB Commission on the Status of Women offers a number of ways to give back to the UAB community and beyond.

  • EmpowerHER Education: The goal of the EmpowerHER Education Endowment is to equip women with the financial support to help effect positive change in themselves, their communities and the world. With your gift, you join the CSW’s initiative to provide an annual award to UAB women students, faculty and staff pursuing professional development at conferences, meetings, workshops, and other professional endeavors.
  • YWCA My Sister's Closet: CSW’s Suits for Success drive gives campus and the community an opportunity to donate gently used work-appropriate clothing to the YWCA’s My Sister’s Closet, which provides clothing for women interviewing for or holding jobs. The drive is held annually every spring.
  • UAB Career Closet: The Career Closet houses a variety of clothing that students can use for interviews, career fairs, and other business and job-related purposes. UAB students who need professional attire for professional interviews or events may borrow items such as button-down shirts, blouses, blazers, pants, skirts, ties, and suits, from the UAB Career Closet for free.
