Title IX

The UAB Title IX Office works with students, University administration, departments, faculty, staff, campus police, and other support services to ensure that University policies and programs foster a campus community free of sex discrimination including gender - based assault, harassment, exploitation, dating and domestic violence, stalking as well as discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, gender identify and gender expression, and related retaliation.

Family Resources

Child Care

The UAB Child Development Center has provided quality care and instruction exclusively for children of UAB employees since 1995. The CDC is an equal opportunity provider of childcare services serving ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Lactation Centers

The UAB Commission on the Status of Women has worked to provide lactation centers on campus. The Shelby Building Lactation Center, located at the rear of the first - floor women's restroom, was the first lactation center on campus located outside of the hospital. It is open to all university faculty, staff, and students. Other centers have more limited usage.

Blazer Kitchen (two locations)

Blazer Kitchen increases food security in the UAB community by providing healthy food, resources, and referrals to UAB employees, students, patients and their families. Two locations are available on campus , Hill Student Center and Medical Towers.
