Shelia McGee Ingram, Ph.D.

Shelia McGee Ingram, Ph.D.

an assistant professor and Director of Clinical Experiences for the teacher education program, joins the UAB School of Education from the University of Alabama. Ingram received her Ph.D. in Education in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of Alabama in 2013. Ingram will be directing the Office of Clinical Experiences for the school, ensuring students are well-equipped for their student teaching internships and field experiences.

Jonan Donaldson, Ph.D.

Jonan Donaldson, Ph.D.

an assistant professor and the Instructional Design and Development graduate program coordinator. He joined the UAB School of Education from Texas A&M, where he served as a learning scientist and taught courses in the learning sciences, educational research, technology, critical pedagogy, and more. He earned his Ph.D. in Education in Educational Leadership and Administration from Drexel University in 2019 after earning his Master of Education in Information Technology from Western Oregon University in 2010.

Christopher Ballmann, Ph.D.

Christopher Ballmann, Ph.D.

an associate professor in the kinesiology program at UAB. He joined UAB from Samford University after serving as a faculty member in their kinesiology department. Ballmann earned his Ph.D. in Science and Mathematics in Exercise Physiology from Auburn University. Ballmann's research is on various topics ranging from physical performance to music volume and performance effects.

Matthew McKenzie, Ph.D.

Matthew McKenzie, Ph.D.

is a visiting instructor of Counseling at UAB. Before that, McKenzie served as the Director of Clinical Training at Bradford Health Services. He completed his Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of Holy Cross in New Orleans. His research focuses on the impact of counselors' compassion fatigue and the utilization of motivational interviewing in counseling and health-related fields.

Miyoshi Juergensen, Ph.D.

Miyoshi Juergensen, Ph.D.

an assistant professor of educational leadership. She joined the educational leadership faculty after serving as an assistant professor of teacher leadership at Kennesaw State University. Her research focuses on historical African-American teacher leadership and current teacher-leaders beliefs and practices about improving schooling for all students. Juergensen earned her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Emory University in 2016.
