Research Proposal Submission 2025

In order to facilitate the timely submission of  high quality research proposals, please use the form below to provide key information about your planned proposal. Please fill out the form 60 days prior to the sponsor deadline or, if less than 60 days, as soon as possible after the sponsor releases the RFA/FOA of interest.

The School and Departments grant support team including the Research and Proposal Development Coordinator (RPDC) and research administrator (RA) will contact you after submission. Please note that for large proposals with multiple PIs, multiple departments or institutions, or other special circumstances, earlier discussion with the grants team is encouraged.

Summary of Key deadlines for grant proposal submission

  • 60 days for intent to submit form to SOE – for most grants, this will ensure that you can receive optimal support from the RPDC and RA.
  • 10 business days for final budget and budget justification to SOE – This ensures time to review the budget prior to submission to OSP.
  • 5 business days for Final Proposals with Research Draft included to OSP – This ensures OSP has time to review proposal.
  • “Ready-to-Submit" Proposals are due to OSP no later than 12:00 Noon the business day before the sponsor’s deadline.

Proposal Submission Incentive Plan

A PI in the School of Engineering who submits a proposal for internal review at least 60 days prior to the sponsor’s deadline and subsequently successfully submits the proposals through OSP is eligible for a $500 Proposal Submission Incentive (PSI).  Information about the PSI and the submission process are detailed in the Proposal Submission Incentive Plan.
