Md Ahsanul Islam, a Graduate Research Assistant at TREND Lab, has won the 2017 Gulf Region Intelligent Transportation Systems (GRITS) Scholarship. Islam is pursuing a M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Transportation Engineering under Dr. Sisiopiku's supervision. His winning essay, “Connected or Autonomous Vehicles as they Pertain to ITS and the Future," explored the role of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), and sensor technologies that are used by connected and autonomous vehicles.
