Executive Director 
Jerad Watson is the Executive Director of UAB HR Learning and Development. In this role, he leads strategy, operations, and innovation for employee and leadership development across UAB. Partnering with his team and key stakeholders, he delivers forward-focused learning experiences that build skills, strengthen leadership, and support a high-performing and people-centered workforce.
He brings a background in education, technology, and workforce development. Prior to joining Learning and Development in 2022, Jerad served as a Senior Instructional Technologist with UAB’s Division of eLearning in the Provost’s Office. He also taught computer science in the public education system.
Jerad holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing Education from Auburn University and a master’s degree in Instructional Design and Development from UAB.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, daughter, and son. Hiking and mountain biking are two of his favorite hobbies.
