Kathleen (Katy) Harris is an Instructional Designer in Learning & Development. In her role, she works closely with Subject Matter Experts to design and develop training content for various learning modalities and activities at the individual and classroom levels. She also assists in tracking, introducing, and implementing emerging educational technologies. She has a real knack for project management and organization. Katy feels that workplace learning improves an employee's productivity and value and enhances self-directed learning.

After working in the UAB Office of Research, where she gained experience developing courses, Katy joined the Learning & Development team. Katy's work with the Office of Research at UAB ensured the vast research community had access to 80+ compliance-based/research training programs.

Katy is a double alumnus of UAB. She has a Bachelor of Science in Health Education with a Minor in Sociology and a Master's in Education with a Certificate in Non-Profit Management.

Her favorite pastime is spending time with her husband, three children, and dogs. The movie Shrek is her go-to if it's on, and the color green is her fave. The fact that children enjoy it is a bonus.
