Ed Buker

Ed has built a career on quickly and positively impacting the performance of a company from high-level positions, including his roles as a key executive for two automotive companies. And as someone who has developed and sold two small businesses, Ed understands the challenges of today’s business leaders and knows how to turn any venture into a valuable proposition by maximizing their capabilities, gaining a competitive advantage, and utilizing their resources.

Craig Fravert

Craig Fravert
Craig has thirty years of leadership and management experience at Fravert Services, one of Alabama’s oldest privately held signage firms, specializing in wayfinding, master planning, as well as the fabrication and installation of interior and exterior architectural signage and environmental graphics for clients across multiple industries.

Jonathon Geisen

Jonathan Geisen
Jonathan concentrates his legal practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, business planning and general business and corporate matters. In addition, Jonathan has extensive experience in commercial lending and finance, equipment leasing, commercial real estate and technology law. He has been counsel to closely-held businesses, public companies, and venture capitalists.

Josh Girvin

Josh Girvin
Josh is Vice President of Product Management at Atlas RFID. Previously, he founded Proximities, Inc, an RFID systems integrator for which he conceived, designed, and patented core RFID intellectual property. Josh engages with and advises early stage entrepreneurs through his work with the Alabama LaunchPad pitch competition. 

Mickey Millsap

Mickey Millsap
Mickey started k12 Lean Labs, an education incubator, in 2015 after working two years as a high school teacher in Sumter County, Alabama through Teach For America. Prior to TFA, Mickey was the co-founder of uShip.com, a venture backed technology start-up in Austin, TX, which he co-founded with two classmates while earning his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Martin Nowak

Martin Nowak
Martin has more than thirty years experience in healthcare management, including his roles as Chief Planning and Strategy Officer for the UAB Health System, CEO of UAB Hospital, and Chief Information Officer at UAB Hospital. Mr. Nowak is locally recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit. He holds several patents including two medical claims data mining processes to illuminate quality and other issues in care delivery.

Tanveer Patel

Tanveer Patel
Tanveer has two decades of experience in successful business ventures partnering healthcare with information technology. Tanveer is co-founder and CEO of Concert Care. Previously, she founded and managed CircleSource until its acquisition, and co-founded (and serves as President of) the Red Crescent Clinic of Alabama. She has also served as an investor and advisor for successful healthcare startups.

DeWayne Pope

DeWayne Pope
DeWayne has been providing counseling, employment litigation and business litigation services to employers for over 20 years. During that time, DeWayne has worked with all size businesses and industries, including everything from entrepreneurs with only an idea to billion dollar companies. He has a strong background in business consulting, operations, management and accounting, and has vast experience leading teams in both the profit and non-profit arenas.

Megan’s career began in the nonprofit sector at a private family foundation. From there,she went on to be strategic planner helping companies connect with female consumers. Her idealism led her to law school,and then in to practice where she counseled individuals in estate and charitable planning and tax exempt organizations through compliance issues.Currently,she is Director of Development in the Office of Planned Giving at UAB.
