“The whole process was fine for me. It was rewarding. I would do it again in a minute.
“There’s not a better human being on this earth than my daddy. He’s taken care of a lot of people, so he deserved this.
“I wasn’t really nervous about the surgery. I was more nervous for my dad. I have had surgery before, but when it was over I felt great. I was only in the hospital for a few days. I was already driving four days after surgery.
“I have four boys and I’ve explained the importance of this to them. I wanted my children to see me do it. They’ve really gotten a lot out of it.
“I was very excited. It’s kind of weird getting excited about surgery, but I just wanted to help my dad. This whole thing has been rewarding. It lets you know there is a God. My dad was so unhappy, but now he’s so happy. He has hope.”
