The University of Alabama at Birmingham Center for AIDS Research (CFAR)  is one of the twenty such centers funded by National Institutes of Health  (NIH). The primary mission of the CFAR program is to facilitate high quality  HIV/AIDS research by providing resources that otherwise would not be  available.
