The purpose of this opportunity is to enhance career development and scientific collaborations of CNIHR awardees and alumni in pursuit of research careers in HIV/AIDS. |
Eligible costs include:
- meeting registration fees
- travel costs for scientific meetings and education / training
- travel for face to face meetings with mentors or collaborators
Award Guidelines:
- For scientific meetings that include opportunities for presentations by attendees, funds will only be awarded if an investigator is making a presentation (oral or poster)
- All travel must be directly related to the initial CNIHR project
- All requests must be fully justified prior to award
- Travel is limited to two trips per year per awardee
- Funds must be used within one year of the award
- Currently-funded CNIHR awardees (Round 5) do not need to apply for travel awards to attend CROI 2017
- A second opportunity to apply for travel awards will be announced in Spring 2017
Reimbursements and subsequent awards are contingent upon submission of a description of the impact of the travel on the development of the recipient as an HIV/AIDS investigator
