With the many different cultures, religions, and countries represented at UAB, it might feel overwhelming when trying to be respectful of everyone’s calendars. To help, the SOM Office for Diversity and Inclusion is offering all faculty, staff, and students access to the diversity calendar.

To use, simply visit the calendar located on our website under, “News & Events.” Automatically, you will see a banner at the top with major holidays and days of recognition with the current month just below. To learn more about any of the events listed, simply hover that holiday and click. You will then be taken to a page that outlines the holiday’s history, how it’s recognized in that culture, and other associated days.

Once you’ve made it to the calendar view, you can use the key on the left-hand side to pinpoint events based on days of commemoration, historical significance, observed holidays, notable days, or religious holidays.

Lastly, icons located next to the month and year show the different awareness months. To learn more, click any of the icons and you will be directed to a page to learn more.
