The General Internal Medicine group, based out of The Whitaker Clinic of UAB Hospital, is comprised of board-certified General Internists whose mission is to provide high-quality medical care to the patients of Alabama. Our electronic health record has facilitated the continuity of care across subspecialties in the UAB system.  We provide preventative care with particular emphasis on managing chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.  Our faculty is committed to medical education and is actively involved in the UAB Internal Medicine Resident training program.
