UAB is taking part in a national initiative called Stop the Bleed that teaches ordinary people how to help save lives in a mass casualty event. Read about how faculty and staff from the UAB Division of Acute Care Surgery, along with members of Air Force Special Operations Surgical Teams based at UAB Hospital, have taught teachers across the Birmingham area how to stop uncontrolled bleeding. You’ll also learn about how UAB is celebrating 50 years of transplant excellence; be introduced to alumni of the School of Medicine's Rural Medicine Programs who are living the mission of expanding access to health care for rural Alabamians; and see the results of the Class of 2018's successful and emotional Match Day.
