UAB Psychiatry’s flagship substance use treatment program is Beacon Recovery, which offers the quality care UAB is known for to uninsured or underinsured individuals. At Beacon Recovery and its embedded medical clinic Beacon Integrated Healthcare, individuals receive outpatient and intensive outpatient substance use treatment integrated with psychiatric, primary care, and addiction medicine services in one clinic.

Additionally, the Beacon ACT Clinic is a first-of-its-kind approach to providing Access to medications for opioid use disorder, Connection to a comprehensive substance use assessment, and Transition to a community treatment provider for ongoing care.
